Charles Otis Stewart
August 29, 1940 - March 18, 2022
Charles (Chuck) Stewart, 82, of Mentone passed away peacefully at home on March 18, 2022. Chuck grew up in Redlands and married his high school sweetheart, LoAnne, in 1959 – they recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. Chuck proudly served our Country as a US Air Force Serviceman before starting his career as a truck driver with Lockheed Jet Propulsion Company. Over the years, Chuck spent countless hours wrenching on his treasured hot rods, classic cars, Harleys, dune buggies, and attending car shows, of course. He loved camping trips to Glamis and the Parker Strip, road trips to Pismo Beach, boating at Lake Havasu, trips to Laughlin and Vegas, and visiting with friends. An Alaskan cruise with LoAnne and friends was also one of his favorites. Chuck loved spending time with his family – always sharing stories with humor and wit at family dinner nights. Chuck is survived by his loving wife, LoAnne, daughters Lynnae Hanson (Jeff) and Stacey Huckfeldt (Scott); grandchildren Karen and Will Bodnar, Joe and Rachelle Pattison, Jake and Nina Pattison, Kaylee Huckfeldt, Kacey Huckfeldt; and, four great grandchildren Addyson Bodnar, Liam Bodnar, Morgan Pattison, and Eddy Pattison. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Mentone Moose Lodge, 2139 Mentone Blvd. on Saturday, April 16th at 3:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, the Wounded Warrior Project or other organizations that provide support to children or veterans. Private military services are scheduled at Riverside National Cemetery.
