Ralph H. Zuniga, age 74, passed on to meet his heavenly father on February 6, 2021. Ralph, affectionately nicknamed "Nego" by family and friends, was born on March 28, 1946 in Riverside, California to Sylvia Zuniga (nee Hernandez), and Carmelo N. Zuniga. Ralph was born and raised in the Arlington neighborhood of Riverside, and graduated from Ramona High School. Ralph worked for the Facilities Maintenance division of the County of Riverside for 27 years, retiring in 2004 to care for his beloved mother, Sylvia. Ralph was an avid sports fan since his youth and played little league and adult league baseball for many years. His favorite professional teams were the San Francisco 49ers, San Francisco Giants, Golden State Warriors, and Stanford Cardinals. He loved to watch and discuss sports with his family and friends and had an amazing memory for sports history, facts, and statistics. Ralph was a very loving and caring uncle and loved his family very much. He was a selfless individual, giving and generous. He was always dedicated to ensuring that his nieces and nephews were always cared for and showed constant interest and support in their education as well as their sports and hobbies. Ralph enjoyed spending quality time with his nieces and nephews and treated them as his own. Those who knew Ralph know he loved to socialize and enjoyed keeping in contact with family and longtime friends. He had an immense love for food, and enjoyed dining out with family at his favorite restaurants, Olive Garden, Red Robin, Cheesecake Factory, Spunky Steer, and Miguel's Jr. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents Sylvia and Carmelo Zuniga, sister-in-law Mary Zuniga, and nephew Pete Zuniga Jr. Ralph is survived by sisters Carol Garcia (Martin), and Irene Pritchard (Winston); brother Pete Zuniga; nieces and nephews, Kristina Hernandez (Marc), Regina Moreno (Rick), Martina Garcia, Daniel Pritchard (Lilybeth), Gabriel Garcia (Daisy), Amanda Garcia, Valerie Garcia, Gabrielle Perea, Alyssa Hernandez, Joseph Martin, Adam Hernandez, Matthew Romero, Mia Cora Pritchard, and Emma Garcia. Ralph also leaves behind an extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as lifelong close friends. Visitation for family and friends will be on April 9, 2021 from 11:00am - 12:30pm at Arlington Mortuary, 9645 Magnolia Ave. in Riverside. Due to COVID -19, there is an in-person maximum capacity restriction of 30 individuals at one given time. Mortuary staff will manage capacity to ensure those paying their respects have the opportunity to do so. Digital services will be provided by the family via Zoom on April 9, 2021 from 10:00am - 12:30pm. Zoom information to be provided in the days leading up to the services. Ralph will be greatly missed and will live on in the hearts, minds, and memories of his loved ones.
